One of my all-time favorite memories just happened to take place on a random Thursday night. My roommates and I had all been extremely busy and stressed that week, but were finally all sitting in the room together. On a whim, we decided to order Insomnia Cookies and watch the musical episode of Grey's Anatomy. It was fun to have a random night of cookie eating while singing along (quite horribly might I add 😂) to our TV. It's the little moments like that that confirm that I have found a home at Alpha Chi. ~Hannah Bolander~ My favorite Alpha Chi memory happened last fall during finals week; I came home from my last final on an absolutely freezing night. I expected to find the house quiet, everyone studying, but instead 10 or so girls were cuddled in the formal, chatting. Among them were my roommates and some of the new members I was close with, as well as girls I had hardly ever talked to before. Excitedly, they invited me to join their game of truth. Essentially they were all just asking each other questions and having a deep talk. I shed my coat and the stress of the day, climbed under a blanket and opened up to my sisters. I loved how they listened to what I had so say as much as I loved hearing each of their unique perspectives and stories. For hours we sat and talked-until past midnight: about dream jobs, true love, how our parents met, and more. As much as I love that memory, all of us totally cozy on a snowy winter night, that evening was really just an extra special example of what Alpha Chi always is- a place where you'll be welcomed, a place where people will listen to you and share a part of them with you too. ~Julia Guiheen~ The last four years of my Alpha Chi experience can be summed up into small snapshots: laughing until I cry at the submissions in Room 15's Gugism jar, walking into random rooms, talking to my sisters, and ending up staying there for hours because we are engrossed in conversation, running around the house and screaming after the Cubs won the World Series, late night drives and food runs with Room 3 to escape the realities of college, and the countless amounts of hugs, smiles, and words of encouragement greeting me at the door whether I am on my highest of highs or lowest of lows. Alpha Chi is not just a house; it is a home because of my sisters. ~Christine Ellis~ My favorite memory was having my Big become my best friend, role model, and my number one fan. Without Alpha Chi I wouldn’t have this amazing person in my life! Truly thankful for AXO and everything it stands for!
